Tonight (January 7, 2014) I noticed a curious change in Google Webmaster Tools search query data:
- The chart is updated to reflect a retroactive change in the search query data reported (see vertical bar on right)
- The statistics reported on the page are now much more precise instead of the rounded data previously reported.
The site in question is a hobby blog.According to GA, the corresponding property has nearly doubled in visits since the date of the indicated update.
This makes me wonder if the change only reflects a change in how data is reported in Google Webmaster Tools, or if there’s a corresponding algorithm change as well.
In either case, more precise data in Google Webmaster Tools is an encouraging sign.
